Liviu Librescu, an Israeli engineering and math lecturer, was killed after he was said to have protected his students’ lives by blocking the doorway of his classroom from the gunman.
The value of life is seen in the actions taken by those who cherish it, or violently cast it aside.
This is nothing new,it is an act of selflessness that is repeated down through history. I am reminded of a Rabbi who gave his life for his talmudin/students just as selflessly as Liviu Librescu .”
Joh 14:28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
Joh 14:29 And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe. He gave his life for those who believe ,and will yet believe.
This is nothing new for consider the words found in the book of the Preacher…Ecclesiastes… Ecc 1:9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
Ecc 1:10 Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us. I am not surprised at the actions of this Israeli at Virgina Tech, yet i am greatly impressed.
