Pray for the “Piece” of Jerusalem.

It seems the first Presidential visit to Jerusalem as well as the “wrest “of Israel is over for now, without involving any major incidents. The day of his arrival was punctuated by the arrival of 2 Katyushas in the north from Lebanon, and a few kassams from the south. The timing of the visit is quite curious, as it relates to events in Israel’s, history. It was during this visit that President Bush first used the term concerning the west bank as an “occupied” territory. One west bank settler Israel Medod, said “it was not the first time we have heard this term”, but coming from the President it was “so in your face.”  “Mean while back at the ranch” In America, we were experiencing some of the worst winter weather we’ve seen in years. Twisters have landed in Washington State and Oregon where they are a rarity, and across the mid west. In January there were reported over 60 so far when in the previous years’ 23 for the whole month was the norm. (As reported by CBS news Jan 11th).  President Bush is hopeful that a peaceful agreement can be reached this year, and the process of a second state of Palestine will be a reality. Personally I believe it is closer to fantasy that a peaceful democratic state existing along side of Israel that is populated by Muslim extremist.  During my month in Israel, I found many who were pessimistic concerning the division of Jerusalem. Some said they would” worry about it when they have something to worry about.”  Said, Nir in Gan-Yavne. One mother in Ashdod whose son is serving it the Golan,” we have to try something, even if it doesn’t work, we have to try anyhow”. It’s been my observation only the religious are adamant concerning the division of Jerusalem. The further to the right the less likely one is to make concessions on the division of Jerusalem. In the case of the following analogy “its 1938 and Iran is Germany” (made by Benjamin Netanyahu), holds true then The President of the United States is “Our Times” Neville Chamberlin. So if we are to learn anything from history concessions only bring one thing …war.

Please pray for the Peace of Jerusalem.
